People have long been asking Terry Glover and her team at the London Review Cake Shop to share their recipes, but the right moment never seemed to arrive … until now. The past year provided both time and incentive: to go back through the files, revisiting and reworking; and to find new ways to connect through food while the shop was shuttered up.
This first seasonal selection of recipes from the Cake Shop brings together old favourites and new ideas just in time for the last days of summer. Seasonal ingredients, such as strawberries and asparagus, are combined with tangy citrus and heaps of fresh herbs. Most of the recipes pack well in a rucksack or hamper, for a picnic in the park or a camping trip, though there’s also a dense chocolate cake for a rainy summer afternoon.
